ABOUT
I started training and competing in powerlifting in 1986, after competing in 2 bodybuilding compeititions. Actually, my coach, Dave Jeffrey, made the decision for me. Walking into the gym that he owned in Parkersburg, WV, thinking I was in for a normal leg training day, Dave yelled at me from the back of the gym. “What are you training today?” he yelled…”legs” I replied…”Get back here! You’re squatting with us from now on!”…from that point on I have been involved off and on with powerlifting as a competitor, coach, meet promoter and national referee.
- Won 1st meet (181lb) in 1986, Weirton Steel Valley Open, 1st and only time making 9 out of 9 attempts.
- Won APF/WPF Jr. World Championships in 1987.
- 3 WV State Powerlifting Championships, 3 WV State Bench Press Championships.
- Competed in 6 National Powerlifting Championships.
- Won USPF National Powerlifting Championships, 198 sub-masters.
- Won Mountaineer Cup Professional Championships, teamed with Beau Moore.
